Third Edition of The Kofi A. Tawiah Good Citizenship Challenge Launched.

A new wave of student-led community initiatives is set to sweep across Ghana as the third edition of the highly anticipated Kofi A. Tawiah Good Citizenship Challenge has officially been launched. Organised by the Kofi A. Tawiah Foundation, the Good Citizenship Challenge is a national community service initiative designed to inspire students to contribute meaningfully to their communities by translating values such as responsibility, compassion, teamwork, and service into real community impact. The challenge invites schools and students to look beyond their classrooms to identify pressing challenges within their communities and work collaboratively to design and implement projects that promote positive change. By engaging in real-life acts of service, students gain a deeper understanding of their roles as active citizens and future leaders committed to building stronger and better communities.

 An exciting grand prize of GH¢15,000 awaits the winning team, while the second and third placed teams will receive GH¢10,000 and GH¢5,000 respectively, in addition to souvenirs, in recognition of their outstanding contributions to community development.

How to Participate

Participation in the Kofi A. Tawiah Good Citizenship Challenge is free and open to all Basic and Senior High Schools across Ghana that are committed to nurturing responsible and service-minded students.

Interested schools are required to form a team of at least five (5) students, with staff member(s) serving as supervisor(s). The team will then identify a specific challenge or need within their community and design a project to address that problem.

Submission Guidelines and Deadlines

Participating schools will be required to document their community projects and submit their entries to the Kofi A. Tawiah Foundation for evaluation. Submissions should include a detailed description of the project, the problem it addresses, the steps taken to implement the initiative, and the impact created within the community. Schools are also required to include pictures, short videos, or testimonials that demonstrate the implementation and impacts of their projects.

Schools interested in participating should note that the deadline for the expression of interest, which includes the submission of team members, the name of the school, and a brief description of the intended project, is 31st March, 2026.

The final essay submission deadline is 30th June, 2026.
