Get ready to win GHC15,000!
Are you up for a challenge that can inspire change?
Join the Kofi A. Tawiah National Good Citizenship Challenge and become a change-maker in your community. This Community Service Contest offers your team the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of those around you.
Work together with your fellow students under the supervision of staff members to engage in acts of service that align with our character education values and leave a lasting impact on your community. Your service could shape a brighter tomorrow.
Join us as we learn, serve and impact!
TOPIC:
Describe a Community Service initiative by your team. Discuss the positive impacts that resulted from the initiative and explain how this has helped shape your character and commitment to making meaningful contributions to society.
ELIGIBILITY:
Basic School – Senior High Schools in Ghana.
1,500 - 2,500 words.
The team should have at least 5 students with staff supervision.
Deadline for expression of interest (submission of team members, school and a brief of intended project): 20th November. 2023
Essay Submission Deadline: 23rd February 2024.
SUBMISSION:
In English Language (Preferably typed).
Share supplementary documents including videos, pictures, etc pertaining to the project you embarked on.
In relation to your project, provide contact information of the organisation or person(s) you engaged during your Community Service.

1st - Cash prize of GHC 15,000.00 and Plaque.

GOALS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE CONTEST
Our Goals are to;
Promote service learning among students.
Promote writing skills among students.
Promote values and Character Education.
Encourage students to learn and write about important issues affecting the country.
Promote the nationalization of the character education program.
Identify ways in which character education can be infused into our national development agenda.
Objectives;
To create awareness of the Kofi A. Tawiah Foundation and its activities.
To engage students in discussions on important issues around character values.
To encourage students to participate in national development conversations.
Structure of the Community Service Contest:
Describe the community project or service-learning initiative that your team has undertaken.
Provide a detailed description of the project's objectives, and specific steps taken to achieve those objectives. Highlight the team's collaborative efforts and the strategies used in executing the project.
Highlight the positive changes that occurred as a result of the project. Discuss the project’s impacts on beneficiaries and any other outcomes that made a significant difference in the community.
Reflect on how your team’s participation in the project has contributed to the development of specific character traits. Identify any skills, such as leadership skills, conflict resolution, collaboration, effective communication and problem-solving skills that were acquired/improved during this project.
Explain how this project has expanded your understanding of community service engagement, the importance of giving back, and the value of working together to achieve a common goal.
Summarize the overall impact of the project within the context of the school and highlight your contribution to it. In particular, emphasize how this experience will shape your future endeavours and commitment to making meaningful contributions to society.
